About Energy Storage Media

Energy Storage Media is an independent publication covering microgrids, energy storage, and distributed energy resources.

Between November 2014 and August 2017 the site published 343 news articles and analyses tracking the first wave of the distributed-energy transition: community and island microgrids, utility-scale battery storage, rural electrification across Africa and Asia, solar-plus-storage economics, and the earliest experiments in peer-to-peer energy trading. That reporting is preserved here in full as a permanent archive — every article appears as originally published, at its original URL.

The energy transition those articles chronicled has since accelerated dramatically, and Energy Storage Media is being revived as an active publication. New coverage will focus on the technologies and markets reshaping today's grid: grid-scale battery storage, virtual power plants, data-center power demand, long-duration storage, and the microgrid market's continued growth.
